Disconnect to Reconnect!

It’s now almost 12 months since COVID -19 and Donald Trump ruptured the world with its madness. To date, I am still not determined whose madness is more destructive (I joke, at least COVID has a vaccine)

However, with Lockdown comes an array of social pressures to conform with. Thanks Facebook and Instagram for that!

I have heard so many media outlets and individuals discuss how "lucky" we are to have social media in times of national crisis, but in reality, are we? Prior to social media, we would not judge ourselves for not climbing endless mountains, acheiving 20K steps, not knowing how to bake brownies blindfolded in 60 seconds (O.K small exaggeration) most achieve around 10K steps πŸ˜‹!

"Comparison is the thief of joy" and I could not agree more, I have spent 2020 in the same country I have lived in for all my life, but it is only this year I actually saw around me. This in no way is some transcendentalist 'mumbo jumbo' but the real scenery I saw, was not on my instagram story or tagged in a "check in" on facebook, but in mind, and mine alone. Yes, my view may of only been the Summer Dew of Gosford Park, but it brought me joy at the time. So the point of this blog, is this. To reconnect with the world, sometimes, you should "disconnect" from the parodies around you, the distractions or the comparisons, enjoy some log off time, and of course when you log back on, always come back to my blog ;-) !

This blog will be full of my adventures, insights and the average life of someone just existing through lockdown. I love taking pictures as memories, god knows my icloud storage could house NASA, but those photos are for me and only me, as when I see them, I am transfixed back to the place I was, when I took it, I can smell, see taste and feel everything I felt in that moment, and for this blog, I am going to share a few of the beautiful places I have visited and seen for you aswell.

Portrush, June 2020

Enjoy this blog, and your log off time!
